Why Freeze-Dried?
Freeze-dried treats preserve most of the original nutrients without using heat or additives, these treats retain the natural flavors and beneficial proteins of raw ingredients. They’re lightweight, shelf-stable, and easy to portion, making them perfect for training or travel.
Even better, they typically don’t require refrigeration and often have fewer preservatives than traditional treats. For picky eaters or pets with sensitive stomachs, freeze-dried options can offer a clean and tasty solution.
How are the products Freeze-Dried?
The freeze-drying process starts with selecting high-quality frozen or fresh fish / meat, followed by careful thawing and thorough washing. The fish / meat is then cut and prepared using sanitised tools before being pre-cooled. It’s loaded onto clean trays and quickly frozen at –36°C or lower for no more than 6 hours.
After freezing, the product undergoes vacuum freeze drying to remove moisture, then passes through vibration sieving to eliminate dust and small fragments. Manual inspection ensures only high-quality pieces move forward. The final stages involve metal detection, precise packaging in a controlled environment, and a final quality check before storage.
